Modified Hockey

Modified Hockey is a club program catering to Lancaster Middle School students in grades 7 & 8*. The modified season takes place during the spring and is governed by WNYHSCHL.

Tryouts

Tryouts cost $20 which covers the cost of the ice for both nights.

When you arrive, players should check in at the registration table to receive their tryout jersey. Players will keep these tryout jerseys for both nights and return them at the end of the second night of tryouts.

We will have a parents meeting on February 24th at the start of each session.. Each tryout slot will have its own parent meeting This meeting will take place in the lobby at the rink.

A $350 deposit is due at tryouts. This deposit is refundable if your child does not make a team. Check should be made out to Lancaster Club Hockey. Checks can be mailed to 24 Crabapple Lane, Lancaster, NY 14086 or paid at tryouts.

The dates are as follows:

February 24th, Depew Ice Pavilion
8:00-8:40 - 7th Graders
8:50-9:30 - 8th Graders

February 25th, Depew Ice Pavilion
6-6:50 pm - 7th Graders
7-7:50 pm - 8th Graders

AAU Insurance Registration

In order to participate in Modified Hockey, players must be registered with AAU.

You will need to create a new username/password to obtain a 2026 AAU membership. Your old credentials did not transfer over to the new system.

Please bring a copy of your AAU registration to the first night of tryouts.

*Per WNYHSCHL league rules, any 7th or 8th grade boys or girls who previously played JV or Varsity high school hockey are not eligible to play modified hockey. Students must attend Lancaster Middle School.
